I saw cool Google Doodle today so I looked it up to find out more.

The Google Doodle is of a lady named Jackie Ormes. She was a cartoonist and activist. She is known as the first and only Black female newspaper cartoonist of her time in the United States.
Google chose today to feature Jackie Ormes because her groundbreaking comic “Patty-Jo ’n’ Ginger” was first printed today in 1945 in the Pittsburgh Courier. The comic was about a smart and fashionable girl named Ginger and her 6-year-old sister Patty-Jo. Jackie Ormes wanted to have positive images of Black women and girls in the media. Often times the media showed negative images of Black women and girls. Jackie Ormes wanted to change that.
