If I were in Japan, I'd definitely get this app. It's called Mawashi Yomi Jump.

It's an app from Weekly Shonen Jump which is a big manga magazine that has some of the most popular manga.
The app's name "mawashi" means to pass around and "yomi" means to read. This website explains that the manga volumes are available for digital pick up at places shown on the map.
You can read the manga for free and leave comments to share your thoughts. To read another manga, you move to another place on the map.
According to this article, they recently added a new twist to the app that I think is really cool. In Japan, manga fans do something called "seichi junrei" or "anime pilgrimage." This is when fans visit real-life locations from anime, manga and games.
The Mawashi Yomi Jump app has been leaving copies of manga at the real life locations of where that manga takes place. For example, one of my favorite manga is Haikyu!!, a story about a volleyball team. Volume 5 takes place at Sendai City Gymnasium so that's where you have to go to get a copy of that volume. This is a screenshot of what that looks like on the app.
