It was interesting to go online for information about Earth Day today. There were a lot of stories about how the environment has changed since people have been staying home because of COVID-19.
This New York Post article showed how pollution has decreased since everything has been shut down. The article showed this before and after picture in India.

CNN had an article that had images that had sliders that you can move left and right to compare the amount of pollution.

Animals have adapted to this new environment that has less people around. This USA Today article showed a picture of a pride of lions in a South African park that took advantage of the empty road to take a nap.

The EarthDay.org website had some eco-friendly kids activities that were related to animals. Even though this activity was for younger kids, I wanted to see what it was. It was called Reduce Bird Collisions. Apparently millions of birds crash into windows because they see a reflection of nature. The activity was to make CD sun catchers and hang them near windows to chase the birds away.

I think I'm going to have to make some of these because I seen and heard a few birds hit our windows.
We also visited NASA's Earth Day Toolkit. My favorite part of the site was their collection of Earth Day posters. My favorite was their 2019 poster.
