Yeah, I don't get it. Why would someone purposely get bit by some of the worst bugs in the world? Well that's what the teacher of the class I took today is known for.

The teacher's name was Coyote Peterson. I had never heard of him. My dad had seen him on TV before. My dad didn't think I should take the class because he thought it's pretty dumb to get stung on purpose. My mom said the class was free and maybe I could still learn something from it. So here's what the class talked about.

Coyote Peterson said he did videos about bugs and animals stinging and biting him because he thought it could help teach people about these animals.
Some of the things I learned:
Stings hurt because they have venom that's painful
Bugs sting when they are scared or angry, so waving your hands around to scare away a bug will cause them to want to sting you.
The following bugs have some of the most painful stings

Coyote Peterson's been bit by them all. One of the stories he told was about the Japanese Giant Hornet. He said the Japanese scientists thought he was nuts to volunteeer to get bit by it. One of the scientists had been bit by it and his leg was swollen so bad that doctors had to make a cut in his leg to drain the infection. Blech!
At the end of all Varsity Tutors celebrity classes, they give you a few minutes to take a selfie with the teacher. My brother was super excited to see a "cowboy" on the screen so I let him do it. He took a couple pictures next to the TV screen when Coyote Peterson posed.

Here's the video of the class.
