My mom woke me up this morning telling me that Hamilton is on Disney plus today. I've been waiting to see this since they announced it last month.
I first learned about Hamilton in April when my mom showed me a video from a YouTube show called Some Good News. A little girl didn't get to see the show Hamilton because of the COVID-19 shutdowns so they surprised her with a Zoom performance of one of the songs done by the actors of the play.
I really liked the song. My mom played another song from the show call "My Shot" and I really liked that one too. So when I found out they were going to show the whole show on Disney plus I got really excited.
The songs I knew were in the very beginning of the show. It was neat to see them acting the roles not just singing. I liked how the stage spun around in the center. I really liked the way the lights highlighted different parts of the stage.
I have two new songs I like from Hamilton. One is called Satisfied. I like it because it has a cool way of showing how the character is remembering something and things look and sound like it's rewinding. I also like it because it's pretty awesome how fast the actress can sing. Here's a YouTube clip of the song.
But my favorite new song is called You'll Be Back. It's a song that the King of England sings. He's funny. The song is really catchy too. Here's a YouTube lyric video. But watching the actor sing this song is sooooo much better. Sadly, you can only see it on Disney plus. Fun fact, the actor playing the king also is the voice for Kristoff in Frozen.
I didn't understand a lot what was happening. I kinda understood that they were going to war. I recognized some of the characters like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. I learned what a duel was and that's a pretty dumb way to try and work out a problem.
