That's what Iolani Palace posted on their Facebook page today. It means Happy Birthday to Liliuokalani. Queen Liliuokalani would have been 182 years old.
According to onipaa.org, she was born on September 2, 1838. The name she was born with was Lydia Lili‘u Loloku Walania Wewehi Kamaka‘eha.
She married John O. Dominis on September 16, 1862. They lived at Washington Place.
She became queen when her brother King Kalakaua died in 1891.
Businessmen tried to overthrow her. She stepped down to avoid people getting hurt. In 1895, she was imprisoned in Iolani Palace for eight months for supposedly knowing about people supporting her against the businessmen.
She lived the rest of her life as a private citizen. She died in her home, Washington Place, on November 11, 1917.
