We tried to find museums we hadn't heard of before. We started with the National Museums of Kenya. They put together a cool website for Google Arts & Culture. I liked reading about the Kenyan superheroes.
Next we found a website for the Messner Mountain Museum. It has six places in Italy. It's a museum about mountains and mountain climbing. These museums looked amazing and scary at the same time. It looks really pretty but I don't think I'd want to be that high in the mountains.
Next we found Bran Castle. It's a castle in Romania. The website said that it matches the description of Dracula's castle in the story. The castle is a museum that shows art and furniture that was collected by the last queen of Romania.
Next we found The Spy Museum in Washington D.C. The had some cool activities you can do at home like making invisible ink and learning about codes and cyphers. You could even look at some of their collection of spy gadgets.
Next we looked at The Museum of Failures. It has a collection of products that failed. The site also talks about not being afraid to make mistakes and learning from mistakes. There were products that my mom and dad knew. They said things like BetaMax and New Coke are famous for being failed products. It was kinda of funny. They had one product that we still use in our house.
So the last thing we did today to celebrate International Museum Day was play Animal Crossing. I thought it was neat that the game actually celebrated it. In the game there's a museum that we help donate items to. So today we had to go around the museum and fill out stamp cards to get prizes.
