International Plant Appreciation Day

Writer's picture: PaigePaige

In honor of International Plant Appreciation Day, we did a virtual tour of artist Claude Monet's garden and home. I remember Monet from my cub club art class. We looked at Monet's paintings of waterlilies. In the virtual tour, I got to see the beautiful garden that inspired his paintings.

I really like the waterlilies.

We also found an article on the New York Botanical Garden webpage. It talked about how Monet used the plants in his garden like the paint he used in his art. It said he would plant orange flowers on the side of his house that saw the sunset to emphasize the colors of the sunset. It said he chose different color flowers to match the time of the year.
