International Tongue Twister Day

Writer's picture: PaigePaige

According to HappyDays365.org, it's International Tongue Twister Day.

Every year it's celebrated on the second Sunday of November. It's a day to celebrate those really hard to say phrases like Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. According to daysoftheyear.com, Peter Piper was an actual person in history. The website doesn't name who he is but it says he was French and a pirate.

The website also says the most difficult tongues twister in English according to the Guinness Book of World Records is The sixth sick sheik’s sixth sheep’s sick.

Other languages have tongue twisters as well. Found this video from babble.com.

My mom says I should practice tongue twisters because I need to practice enunciating. This website gives a list of English tongue twisters listed east to hard. I guess I'll give these a try.

My mom said her dad had her practice a song called I am the Very Model of a Modern Major General.

It kinda reminds me of the Yakko's World song I did for the talent show a couple of years ago.
