I forgot to write about the brush fire in Manoa on Thursday. It was pretty big! I was worried for the houses along the mountain.
According to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, firefighters started fighting the fire near the University of Hawaii on Waahila Ridge at around 10:30am on Thursday.
For safety, they had to shut down the electricity to a lot of places nearby.
My mom said she got an email from the University saying everyone should avoid coming on campus.
From where we were, we could see a lot of smoke.
We know one of the librarians at Manoa Library. She sent us this picture that she took from the library.

This is a picture my mom took when she went to do some shopping for my grandma at Safeway.

This is video of the fire from the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
This Hawaii News Now story had close ups of the fire. (Click on the image to get to the video.)
Luckily, no one was injured and no homes were destroyed. They don't know what caused the fire.
