I learned that Manoa School is going to have all of us come back like a regular school year. I don't like it.

I'm nervous to go back to school. I don't want to get the coronavirus. You don't know where the other people in your class have been. You don't know how careful their families have been. I hear more people are getting the coronavirus now in Hawaii. I don't understand how it's safe for us to go back to school.
I heard that they are letting schools have students sit 3 feet apart? I don't understand. I thought were supposed to be 6 feet apart?

I'm also worried about having to wear a mask all day. I'm going to do my best to keep it on but I already have a hard time with it on for short periods of time. I don't think a lot of my classmates will wear it all the time.
(This is a picture of the face mask I made for my Boo doll.)
I don't think it's fair that other schools get to do some distance learning. I would feel safer if I had distance learning. I thought I learned a lot during the 4th quarter when we had distance learning. I really liked it.
Even though I miss my friends, I'd rather be safe and can live with just seeing my friends online.
Hi Ms. Carr!!! Thanks for the comment. I miss you. Hope we can all stay safe.
Hi Nainoa. Thanks for your comment as well.
cool artical. Not to protest you but I catalyst want to go t face to face school. Long as we are socially distant and werering a mask, everything will be okay
Aloha Amazing Paige,
I’m proud of you for writing this. It’s important to express your opinions, and it’s helpful for other people to know what’s on each other’s mind. I also feel nervous to go back face to face. Lucky for you, a large group of teachers, students, and community members feel the same way. They spoke to Auntie Catherine and the rest of the Board of Ed, and the BOE is listening— they’re postponing their decision about reopening schools so they can make sure it’s done safely and carefully. Again, I’m so proud of you for speaking your mind! You’re a true journalist :)
