Minecraft - Combining the real and the unreal

My mom signed me up for more online classes. In the morning, I had Kawaii Drawing Anime & Manga and I did my Pokémon, Mythology, and Culture: Dragons class. This afternoon I started a class called Create Your Own Storyland Using Minecraft.

Today's lesson was about how to make castles in Minecraft. My computer's pretty slow and I don't have a real Minecraft game so I couldn't do a lot of stuff the teacher was showing. But I did work on a free online version of Minecraft and created a castle with what I had. I made it really tall and put some turrets on the corners. It was still interesting to see what the other students and the teacher could do with Minecraft.

At the beginning of the class, the teacher said that she's an architecture student and the reason why she's studying architecture is because she grew up playing Minecraft and really enjoyed it.

My mom and I looked up how Minecraft is related to architecture and found some interesting articles.

This article talked about how a lot of college students were recreating their colleges in Minecraft since everything is closed. Students recreated places and had virtual events there. Some places had virtual graduations and even some sports.

In some countries, it can be dangerous to print things that the government doesn't like. The virtual library in Minecraft hopes to be a safe place to share those writings.

The last article we looked was about Illegal Architecture. It's not really illegal. It's just called that because it doesn't follow the laws of physics. One hundred forty-five people created a combined piece of architecture using all sorts of styles.
