National Croc Day!

Writer's picture: PaigePaige

It's National Croc Day! You know, those foam clogs with the heel straps?

I've worn these since preschool. They're super comfortable. They're not quite slippers since they cover your toes. But they're not quite schools since you don't lace them up and your feet don't get hot.

According to Checkiday.com, Crocs were introduced in 2002 as a type of boat shoe. They are made out a foam resin material. That's what makes them so comfortable. The website says, "Over a billion Crocs are sold in over 90 countries each year." It also says there are over 120 styles.

I believe it! Whenever we go to the Croc store in Waikele, there's always a new design. I always get one of the "classic" styles. The one I have right now is a rainbow color. I have a couple of Jibbitz on them. Jibbitz are these little show charms you can stick through the holes on the Crocs for decoration. I've got a volleyball and a tennis ball.

My brother currently has a Mickey Mouse light up Croc. Whenever he walks, little lights flash on the sides of it. I think he jumped around in them too much because now only one side lights up.

My Crocs are getting pretty beat up. I can't wait to get a new pair.
