I'm celebrating Frog Jumping Day with some fun facts about frogs.

Kermit the Frog is my favorite frog.
- Kermit was originally made out an old coat that was going to be thrown away. His eyes were made out of ping pong balls.

At first I thought Kermit was the only famous frog I knew. Then I remembered Keroppi. He's Hello Kitty's friend. According to the Sanrio website, he lives in a big house with his family on the edge of Donut Pond.
Then I also remembered Crazy Frog. In the music video he is called the most annoying thing in the world. I actually think it's kinda funny.
I guess I should also talk about some real frogs. The American Museum of Natural History had a list of Frog Fun Facts. Here are some of my favorites.
- There are over 6,000 species of frogs in the world.
- Frogs were the first land animals with vocal cords.
- There's something called a Costa Rican flying tree frog that jumps from branch to branch.
My mom also told me that Manoa School's mascot used to be a frog. She says she thinks she has an old Manoa School shirt at my grandma's house with a frog on it. She thinks it was a poison dart frog. We looked up the poison dart frog and found this United States Geological Survey website. It said, "The green and black dart-poison frog was intentionally introduced to the upper Manoa Valley on Oahu, in 1932, for mosquito control."
