According to Checkiday.com, it's National M&M Day.

Did you know the hard outer shells are supposed to keep the candy from melting? They used to have a slogan that said that "they melt in your mouth, not in your hands." It's not completely true because when my little brother eat M&Ms, there's chocolate all over the place.
Here's a short video of some cool M&M facts.

My favorite M&Ms are these mini plain M&Ms in these plastic tubes. My mom used to buy me one every Sunday when we used to go to Moanalua 99 for my gymnastics and piano classes.
My dad like the peanut butter of peanut M&Ms. My mom likes the plain ones. My brother will eat anything.
When my grandma used to go to Las Vegas, she would alway bring me back a shirt or keychain from the M&M store.

One last interesting fact about M&Ms. My mom told me about this rock band that would put in their contract that there could not be any brown M&Ms backstage for their concerts. (The group's name was Van Halen. Their guitarist Eddie Van Halen just passed away.) That seems like a really rude thing to ask for. Sounded like some diva rock stars.
But apparently there was a good reason why they put that in their contract. It was to find out whether the place where they were playing at paid attention to details. If they found brown M&Ms, they knew someone didn't pay attention to details. With all of the equipment they had to work with, attention to details meant safety. Brown M&Ms would let them know they had to be extra careful because the concert place might not have been so careful.
