National Milk Day

I don't really like to drink milk. I'm ok with chocolate milk but regular milk... not so much. When we're in school I drink milk every other day and chocolate milk on the others because my parents said I should really drink white milk. My dad will ask me every once in a while to check, "Did you drink white milk or chocolate milk today?"
I do like ice cream. But I know that's not the same.
For National Milk Day I found a virtual tour of a dairy farm.

Some things I learned.
There are over 40,000 dairy farms across America.
There are 6 types of dairy cows: Holstein, Guernsey, Jersey, Brown Swiss, Milking Shorthorns and Ayrshire.

Cows live in different types of houses.

Cows don't just eat hay.

A cow's stomach has four parts to break up food.

Cows that are comfortable produce more milk
They use technology to track every cow. It tracks how much milk they produced and when they were milked.

Cows don't sweat.
Dairy farms try to recycle as much as possible.

Paige, I share many of your dairy opinions:
I don't like milk either :(
Chocolate milk is okay :)
Ice cream is more than okay :) :) :)
Cows are awesome!
