Today is National Nurses Day. There were a lot of really nice messages on social media thanking nurses.
Athletes posted messages online thanking healthcare workers. They took their jerseys and taped the name of a nurse or doctor over their own.

I learned that today is also National School Nurse Day.
From the American Nurses Association website I learned that today starts National Nurses Week. It ends on May 12 which is Florence Nightingale's birthday. According to National Geographic Kids, she is the founder of modern nursing. I remember my brother watching a PBS Kids Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum episode about her.
