I couldn't find the reason why but today is National Toilet Paper Day.

Checkiday.com talked about how people cleaned themselves before toilet paper.
Rich people used to wipe or clean themselves with wool, lace, or hemp, but common folk used things such as leaves, grass, seashells, corncobs, sponges on a stick, water, stones, hay, and yes, the smooth edges of broken pottery jugs.
Ew!
Found an interesting infographic from a toilet paper company. It says 70 to 75% of the world's population doesn't use toilet paper.
When we first started to have to stay home because of COVID-19, people were hoarding toilet paper. It was really hard to find for some weeks. My mom says there's a Facebook group called Hawaii Toilet Paper Patrol where people post where they've seen supplies of toilet paper for sale.
So how should you celebrate National Toilet Paper Day. Checkiday.com suggested you could got TPing. That's when you cover places up with toilet paper. USA Today celebrated National Toilet Paper Day by showing photos of sports events that were TP'd. Here's one picture.

Checkiday.com also suggests toilegami, origami with toilet paper!!! I've got to try this! (But I'm not sure my dad will let me use toilet paper for arts and crafts right now.)
