Olaf's reading stories online

Today is Tell a Story Day. I don't think I tell stories well. My mom said to listen to other people tell stories so I can learn how to get better.

With everyone staying home, there are a lot of videos of famous people reading books. Here are a few I looked at:

Josh Gad, who voices of Olaf in the Frozen movies has been reading bedtime stories on his Twitter and Instagram accounts. (His real voice doesn't sound like Olaf to me.) It's mostly books for younger kids but it was really fun to listen to him because he uses really funny voices for the different characters.

We found a website called Storyline Online. This site was made way before everyone had to stay home. Looking on their YouTube site there are videos of famous people reading books from 7 years ago.

From this site, I chose a story read by James Earl Jones. I chose this one because my mom said he's the voice of Darth Vader and Mufasa. Before he started reading, he said he was reading because he still needs the practice. He said when he was a kid he was a stutterer and was a little dyslexic. Dyslexic means you have a hard time reading words correctly.

He has a really cool, calming voice so it was easy to listen to. While he read the story, the video also showed pictures from the book. That made it even more cool for me.

My mom told me about an actor named LeVar Burton who is also reading stories on Twitter. She says I should remember him from a PBS show called Reading Rainbow but I don't remember. What's cool about this one is every week, he does a reading for not only children but for young adults and adults. Today, I listened to him read a fun poem from Shel Silverstein. I liked his read because it was exciting and I could clearly imagine what was happening.

I also checked out the Michelle Obama readings recommended by Ms. Carr. Since it's on the PBS Kids YouTube channel, the stories are more for younger kids. They also had the author and illustrator of Arthur and the Kratt brothers from Wild Kratts read stories.

Every post I read on this blog is better than the last. I LOVE James Earl Jones, and did not know that he'd struggled with dyslexia! I love listening to him, too. And I remember LeVar Burton from Reading Rainbow, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the phenomenal Ms. Obama. Someday... YOU will be the one reading & being reviewed :)
