My mom found out that our favorite comic book store closed about a month ago.

Collectors Maniacs was in Kaimuki on Waialae Avenue. My mom said she started going there in college. She started to take me there when I started reading. I got my first My Little Pony graphic novel from there.
The owner, Uncle Rob would always put his hand over his head and tell me to try and give him a high five. He would also always joke that I was supposed to bring him his own Boo doll since I always carried mine around.
My mom would pick up some comics. She'd buy me a comic or some toys. My mom would buy my brother a Transformer. Uncle Rob sometimes gave me some free stuff.
Some months we'd go a couple of times. Sometimes we wouldn't visit for a couple of months. We were either too busy or we just needed to spend money on other things.
My mom saw on Facebook that the store closed in August. We're so sad. We didn't get a chance to say goodbye. I wish this coronavirus never happened. Then these places wouldn't have to go out of business.
My mom tried to send him an email thanking him for being so nice to us. Hopefully he got it. Hopefully he starts another store again someday and we'll get to see him again.
