Today is Roald Dahl Story Day. The Official Roald Dahl website doesn't explain why today is Roald Dahl Story Day but it has a lot of really cool stuff.
To celebrate the day, you can download a PDF of their "party pack." It lists a bunch of activities you can do like pretending to be The Grand High Witch from the story The Witches and write sentences you think she would write about smelly, stinking children. It also had instructions on how to make a Formula 83 Lava Lamp and an arts and craft project to make a mouse.
The also did a video to celebrate the day. It had a draw-along and an actor named Stanley Tucci who read The Witches.
I clicked around the main Roald Dahl website and found a section called Museum at Home. In that section, you could click on a link that showed you Roald Dahl's writing hut that's at the museum. You could also see his story ideas book. There was a link for a virtual tour of the museum but the page just had a Google Maps link and some pages about the area where Roald Dahl lived.
I like Roald Dahl. I read the BFG and Ms. Carr read The Twits to us in 4th grade.
