A couple of days ago, it was Red Panda Day. Today, it's Save the Koala Day.

According to a Newsweek article, the Australia Koala Foundation began in 1986 and named September as Save the Koala Month and the last Friday of the month as Save the Koala Day.
The foundation says that in order to protect the koalas the government needs to do more to protect their habitat. The foundation says we can all do a little bit to help the koalas by taking care of the environment. Their website has posters that encourage people to take action.

To celebrate Save the Koala Day, the foundation did a live video call on Facebook with the Symbio Wildlife Park in Australia.
