Today I took a look at the Scholastic Learn at Home website.

The article I read was about a girl named Jordan who has a disability. She was born without part of her arm. She had a nice list of things she would like people to know about people with disabilities. I understand what she means about stop staring. My aunty is in a wheelchair. I used to ride on the back of her chair when I was smaller. I didn't like it when people stared at her.

Jordan went to a camp that had a workshop that had them design a prosthetic arm that would turn her disability into a superpower. A prosthetic is something that replaces a missing part of your body. She designed an arm that would shoot glitter. That's sooo cool!

They made the prosthetic arm using a 3-D printer. At the bottom of the article there is a video about 3-D printers. (Sorry I can't link it here.)

I remember going to Leeward Community College's Geek Day and making a small toy with a 3-D printer. In this video I learned that 3-D printers can even make food and help our animal friends.

I want my own 3-D printer now!!!
