Sigh... Manoa School had a WebEx meeting for parents tonight.

My mom said that classes are going to have about 21 students and we're going to stay with that group of students for the whole day. I'm going to be sad if I have friends in other classes and I can't play with them during recess or lunch. My mom also said I might be in the same class as other robotics team members to keep me in something called an "ohana bubble." That doesn't really work for me since I was told I'm the only 5th grader not on a team with other 5th graders. Being with them all day, every day is just going to make me depressed.
I also learned that we're not going to have a lot of specials anymore. Our music, STEM and PE teachers are going to be teaching classes rather than the specials. Sad.
The only thing I'm kinda excited about is seeing what the blacktop is going to look like. I heard there's going to be a covering over it so we can have shade and we'll probably be eating lunch out there.
I still don't understand how this is all safe. I know there are people who are fighting to have school start later. I hope we do start later.
Hi Ms. Carr! I'm glad to hear you have a smaller class. I think that's safer. YIKES! I hate bugs!!! Thanks for the encouragement. I'm going to need it. Can't wait until I can visit you on Molokai. :-) I still have a plane ticket I have to use because our robotics trip got cancelled.
Aloha Paige,
Me too— SIGH! I’m on Molokai and I just had my 3rd day of school. It’s just been teachers so far. We all go in to school every day to set up classrooms, but most of our meetings are virtual. Two big differences are: 1) how many giant daddy long legs and bugs I’m finding in my classroom, and 2) using yard sticks to arrange the classroom. I’m going to have about 13 or 15 students for a full day. You’ll be okay no matter which class you’re in, but I am really sorry about specials being cancelled. Make sure to keep music in your heart and art in your soul, and know that you are 100% an…
