Using drones for home security

My dad and I used to fly toy drones before we were all in quarantine. I think they're pretty cool. But I'm not really good at controlling them. I'm pretty good at controlling our robots in Robotics but the drones are super sensitive. I barely pushed the controls once and I sent it flying way above the house. Ooops!

Today, I saw a story about a drone that can be used as security for your house.

It's called the Ring Always Home Cam. It's supposed come out next year and will cost $250.

They showed video of a simulation of how it would work. I guess if you're out of your home, you can set the drone to take a fly through the house and send you a video. It could also be triggered if there was some weird movement in the house or if the door alarm was set off. The drone would go and check it out.

Some people are concerned about their privacy with this. The story says that Amazon, the company that makes this drone, has a partnerships with law enforcement. It's supposed to help law enforcement get access to footage if there was a crime. But people are concerned about their privacy.

Cool but scary at the same time.
