I finally learned who my teacher is going to be on Tuesday. Because I'm on the robotics team, my teacher is my robotics teacher.
Later on Tuesday, the school had another online meeting for parents.
They talked about how next week was going to work. They said that students would be able to go to school for one day next week to meet with their teachers.
My mom tried to find out if this was mandatory. Her question wasn't answered during the meeting so we waited to hear back from my teacher from more information.
My parents said that if the face to face meeting was mandatory they would switch me to the 100% distance leaning (Acellus) option. But we only had until Thursday afternoon to sign up for it.
My teacher emailed us on Thursday afternoon with a schedule of when we were supposed to come to school. I was in a group with 3 other robotics students who were supposed to meet on Wednesday. We would have regular school from 8 to 11:30. Then I was supposed to go home for an hour for lunch then come back from robotics from 12:30 to 3. But the instructions didn't say if this was mandatory.
My parents were a little more concerned on this day because there were 355 new COVID-19 cases reported. My mom called the school to try and find out if the face to face class was mandatory. The office said they didn't know how each teacher was handling things so we needed to find out from my teacher. So we emailed my teacher and she said she could pack my materials for my mom to pick up instead of me coming to school for the whole day.
Then we got an email from the principal today saying they would not be having students on campus next week. Instead we're supposed to do a drive-by pick up of our stuff then go home and log in for class.
I've been really frustrated by all the changes. But I can only imagine how frustrating it's been for the teachers who have to keep changing their plans almost every other day.
Crossing my fingers this will all work out.
