It's World Ballet Day. I've only taken one ballet class. It was kind of a ballet class. It was when I was in preschool. My mom and I went to Ballet Hawaii for a few classes together. I remember she would balance me on her knees or feet when she was lying down. They called it the helicopter and plane. I think I learned some ballet positions but I forget them now.
My friend Isabella takes ballet. I haven't seen her perform yet. Hopefully when this pandemic's over I can watch her dance. I did watch her online perform with her Okinawan dance group.
Anyway, World Ballet Day... Looks like it's a pretty big deal. My mom says a lot of the major ballet groups around the world are performing today.

According to the Royal Opera House's website, World Ballet Day started in 2014. This year, they are livestreaming the different ballet companies. They will be showing performances as well as behind the scenes looks at how they are rehearsing during the pandemic.
Here's a video about the celebration.
We watched some of The Royal Ballet's rehearsal. It's like they're speaking a whole different language. There a guy who says a whole string of words and the dancers know what moves he's talking about and they just go and do them. I also love the piano guy who just keeps playing.
