Worldwide Howl at the Moon Night

Writer's picture: PaigePaige

According to Checkiday.com, today is Worldwide Howl at the Moon Night.

It's supposed to be a day to celebrate wolves and learn more about them. Last week was actually Wolf Awareness Week. Wolves are apex predators, meaning they are at the top of the food chain. They are important to the ecosystem because they help to regulate the populations of their prey.

According to National Geographic, wolves don't actually howl at the moon. They howl to communicate with each other. One reason why people may have connected wolves with the moon is because wolves are nocturnal.
